Karcher WV1 Window Vac Review
The video didn’t exactly start smoothly. Let’s just say gravity won, my studio light lost, and my skull took the brunt of it. Still, bruises fade — condensation doesn’t.
So, what do you do when your windscreen looks like a rainforest every morning? You grab the Karcher WV1 Window Vac, the tiny white gadget that finally earns its keep in a motorhome.
What it actually does
You turn it on, run it across the glass, and it hoovers up the water. That’s it. No streaks, no fuss, no damp dashboard. It’s cordless, lasts about twenty minutes on a charge, weighs half a kilo, and has a tiny 100 ml tank for the water it collects. Enough for the van, not enough for your house unless you enjoy emptying tanks mid-flow.
Why it belongs in the van
Condensation isn’t just annoying, it’s the start of every mould patch and mood swing on a cold morning. The WV1 clears the lot in under a minute. I’ve tried microfibre cloths, heaters, running the engine — all of which make you look like you’ve lost an argument with physics. This actually works.

Battery and charging
It charges from a wall plug, not USB-C, because apparently Karcher hasn’t joined the rest of civilisation yet. Still, the LED tells you how much life it has left, and twenty minutes is enough unless you plan to polish the neighbours’ caravans too.
Verdict
It’s a stupidly simple bit of kit that does exactly what it says. No gimmicks, no drama, apart from the head injury. For under fifty quid, it’s cheaper than therapy and makes the morning routine marginally less tragic.
